About Richard Thornton

Richard Thornton`s stainless steel modern contemporary sculptures are much in demand for public art and community projects, the work place, on the patio, on the terrace or parkland. Richard somehow captures the potential of the medium he works in with the genius of a light touch. When not sculpting he teaches degree courses.

Biography / CV of Richard Thornton

Richard Thornton has built up a national reputation as an experienced and site specific sculptor who has achieved many successful public art projects; designing manufacturing and installing more that 20 large-scale sculptures for a variety of private and individual clients throughout the UK, as well as many local authorities.

Having completed a wide range of commissions, Richard Thornton and his team have considerable experience of project management and consultancy. They are used to working with communities and multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve positive outcomes. Richard has experience of teaching on several degree courses and was resident sculpture fellow for two years at the University of the South West.
