Richard Thornton

About

Much in demand for public art and community projects, Richard somehow captures the potential of the medium he work in with the genius of a light touch. When not sculpting he teaches degree courses.

Biography / CV

Richard has built up a national reputation as an experienced and site specific sculptor who has achieved many successful public art projects; designing manufacturing and installing more that 20 large-scale sculptures for a variety of private and individual clients throughout the UK, as well as many local authorities.

Acquisitions / Collections

Having completed a wide range of commissions, Richard and his team have considerable experience of project managment and consultancy. They are used to working with communities and multi-disciplinary project teams to achieve positive outcomes. Richard has experience of teaching on several degree courses and was resident sculpture fellow for two years at the University of the South West.
